Excellent Value for Money

The ethos of Seasoned Pioneers is about representing excellent value for money (we do not aspire to be the ‘cheapest’ in the market). This is down to a number of reasons:

  1. Coriander Seeds in the case of single ingredients: there are many different sources, grades and types of every spice. These vary greatly in quality and also greatly in price. For example, even readily available spices like Coriander Seeds can be sourced from a large number of countries - some good, some poor. Many Coriander Seeds currently on the market are Egyptian rather than the Indian Coriander Seeds we source – however the smaller Indian variety have a more highly concentrated & intense flavour, hence representing really good value for money.
  2. Ras-el-hanout in the case of our spice blends: we hand produce all our spice blends in an authentic manner - making them from the finest ingredients and dry-roasting the whole spices together by hand in small batches (which makes a massive difference in developing and bringing the flavours together). This is not really something that is done by other spice companies. The spice blends are also produced to strictly genuine recipes (for example, our Moroccan Ras-el-Hanout spice blend has 15 different input ingredients - other variants have far less)
  3. Open spice packIn each of our packets you will get at the very least 20 servings (and more like 30 to 40). So, using the example of one of our spice blends, our price works out at an average of around 8p per serving. When you consider this, together with how central the spice invariably is to the flavour, quality & authenticity of the dish you are preparing, we believe it is effectively a false economy to buy something cheaper, yet inferior.
