Seasoned Pioneers at Small Biz 100

What is Small Business Saturday?
Small Business Saturday is the UK’s most successful small business campaign. This is the fourth year of the campaign, which last year saw £623m spent with small businesses across the UK on Small Business Saturday, an increase of £119m or 24 per cent on the previous year. Over 75% of local councils supported the campaign, giving considerable national reach into local communities. In short, Small Business Saturday exists to support, inspire and promote small businesses.

Here’s what they say about us!
A small artisan spice supplier from Bromborough, engaged in manufacturing worldwide spice blends, has been named among the 100 small businesses in the UK to be celebrated by Small Business Saturday, the campaign that culminates in the UK’s dedicated day for small businesses on December 3rd 2016.

At Seasoned Pioneers’ premises, spices are roasted, ground and hand-blended into mixes that represent the cuisines of a myriad of cultures. The company also supplies pure spices, herbs, seasonings and specialist ingredients and has introduced a range of ten worldwide gourmet-cooking sauces that are all made with its own spice blends. The company will now be among the select number of businesses to be featured by the campaign one per day for the 100 days leading up to Small Business Saturday itself.

Seasoned Pioneers director Matt Webster says:
“As buyers we purchase our herbs and spices from small-scale suppliers and businesses. We particularly select smaller spice producers as their focus is on the quality rather than the quantity. We also buy a wide selection of organic and Fairtrade herbs and spices, ensuring that small overseas farming communities are fairly rewarded and that the environmental impact of production is reduced.

We offer complete flexibility in order quantities, so small independent retailers can order exactly what they need rather than imposing case size orders that they may not be able to afford. Notwithstanding our size we put immense effort into our manufacturing business. As a result we are extremely proud of our products, service, values and work ethic so it is an enormous boost to us to be highlighted as part of this year’s Small Biz 100.”

Campaign Director Michelle Ovens explains:
“The British public has a great affection for small businesses and we continue to see that grow year on year. Small Business Saturday is an exceptional example of collaboration and co-operation with small businesses teaming up in communities around the UK.
Although the campaign focuses on one day, the goal is to have a lasting impact on small businesses by changing mind-sets, so that people make it their mission to support small businesses all year round. Most people in this country own a small business, work for a small business or know somebody who does, so supporting a small business on Small Business Saturday is absolutely personal.”

How consumers will benefit:

On the day of Small Business Saturday – 3rd December 2016, the businesses selected as the Small Biz 100 will be offering exciting rewards to their customers. These could be discounts, free gifts, experiences and more.

For a complete list of the 100 businesses participating, The Telegraph has compiled an alphabetical index.
